Mission Park Neighborhood & School Information
This active neighborhood is located in a prime location just west of 168th St between Q and Harrison Streets in Millard. Two-stories and ranches dominate the neighborhood with several houses sporting three car garages. Houses in Mission Park date from the early 1990s to today. The homes are generally spacious and offer families lots of room to grow.
This warm and friendly subdivision offers an annual pancake breakfast, periodic picnics and many garage sales in the neighborhood. The Homeowners Association sends out newsletters while each street has a block captain to help keep homeowners informed. No need to worry too much about safety as neighbors keep an eye out for one another with the neighborhood watch program.
One of the best things about living in this neighborhood is your kids never have to leave for their schooling! Mission Park is in the Millard School District, and depending on their ages, kids will attend Wheeler or Willowdale Elementary, Russell or Beadle Middle School and Millard West High School. Living here you can take advantage of the local park as well as a path perfect for getting in your morning run or an afternoon stroll with your four-legged pal. If you need a little more variation in your exercise or just want to take the whole family out for a little recreation, walk over to the Armbrust YMCA. Or hop in the car and head to Zorinsky Recreation Area or Chalco Hills Recreation Area. Zorinksy offers a lake where you can fish or boat or you can hike and check out the local wildlife. At Chalco Hills there are soccer fields and a baseball field as well as playgrounds near picnic areas.
Hungry? Don’t feel like cooking? You’re in luck. Many popular fast food restaurants are nearby including Runza, Subway, Taco John’s and Pizza Hut. Village Pointe also boasts a Marcus Theatres Cinema so after a day on your feet shopping, you can watch a flick with the family before heading to dinner. There are also plenty of doctor’s offices and child care centers close as well as a Hy-Vee store for your day to day grocery needs.
