Millard Park Neighborhood & School Information
The Millard Park neighborhood runs 156th and Harrison to 168th & Giles. This area is considered one of the most sought after in the Omaha area. Millard Park Shopping & Lifestyle
Millard Park is all about community. Every August the neighborhood holds a four-day event that includes a poker run, an auto show, carnival and parade. All events are held in Anderson Park. The money that’s raised from these events help fund projects in the area. If you want to spend some time outdoors, several parks and gardens are located nearby including Zorinsky Lake, Whitehawk Park and Cattail Creek. Or grab the kids and go putt putt at one of two course options at Boulder Creek Amusement Park.
The Q Street Bike Path runs from Millard Avenue to South 168th Street, connecting to the 144th Street Trail further down the road. A second popular path winds from Walnut Grove Park to either the Q Street path or Zorinsky Lake path. Dogs are also welcome in Millard’s parks, including Hanscom Park Dog Park.
If you want to spend some time indoors, there are several big shopping centers only a few minutes’ drive away. Enjoy spending your hard earned dollars at locally-owned businesses? Olympic Cycle specializes in bicycle sales and service. Kimberly Spa is a local shop that features specialty products and spa treatments. And the nearest farmer’s market, Tomato Tomato in Western Omaha, runs year-round indoors.
Here there is easy access to I-80 from Giles over to 144th Street/Highway 50 or you can take 168th South to Highway 370 to head to Lincoln for a football game or to downtown Omaha where you can take the kids to the Omaha Children’s Museum.
