What 3 Questions Should You Ask a Real Estate Agent?

How can you be sure the agent you’ve selected is the right one for you? Today I’ll share three questions you should ask agents when interviewing them for your transaction.

I’m coming to you in front of the entrance to our new office space, which Omaha’s Elite Real Estate Group is very pleased about. Today’s topic is how to select a Realtor if you’re thinking about buying or selling a home.

Most people know anywhere between five and 10 Realtors, so how do you choose the right one to work with?

First, you’ll want to interview two or three real estate agents when considering buying or selling a home. The key here is to know what to ask these agents so you can be sure that you’ve picked one who knows their stuff and is a proven success. Here are three questions you’ll want to ask:

1. “How many properties have you sold in the last year?” Essentially, this is asking how many families they’ve helped through the buying or selling process in the last 12 months. The industry standard is seven properties in a year for an average agent. Our team’s average agent pulls in about 30 every year. Knowing this figure will help you feel more comfortable and confident that the person who will be representing you in what will be one of, if not THE, biggest purchases in your life has the experience and know-how to do so

2. “Is there a primary area in town where you focus your business? Where do they typically do business? Does their range of experience include the area you’re interested in?

3. “In what price point do you specialize? Obviously, a home in the $100,000 range is going to be a lot different than a home in the $1 million range, and the strategies attached to both are going to be different as well.

Be sure to ask the right questions and take the time to put in the effort to make sure that you’re partnering with the right person when you’re ready to buy or sell your next home.
