Google Fiber has long held the spotlight over gigabit internet — nearly teasing Americans with its promise of unlimited access at unbelievable speeds. But Google isn’t the only company jumping on the gigabit bandwagon. All across the nation, individual companies are unveiling their own gigabit networks and giving the search giant a run for its money.
Not too long ago many of us wish we lived in Kansas City (as Google Fiber first unrolled its ultra-high speed internet there). Today, we can pick and choose. Omaha itself is being introduced to gigabit internet speeds through the services of Century Link. Other cities like Vancouver, Chicago, and Seattle are also building up their own networks. With all these high speed networks popping up faster than we can count, we at Omaha’s Elite Real Estate Group decided to breakdown the various internet services by company and city.
