Highland Park, four miles north of downtown Dallas in central Dallas County, is a 2.2-square-mile residential "island city" surrounded by Dallas on the south, east, and west and University Park on the north. Highland Park has a reputation for luxury housing surrounded by an abundance of parks running along Turtle Creek, Lakeside Drive Park, and the Dallas Country Club, and a top ranking school district.
